QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a construction-related program; Construction Management.
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role a role in residential, multi-family construction; experience with a developer/builder or general contractor is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strategic thinking capability.
- Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite, with a strong working knowledge of Excel; experience with Procore is an asset.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to add value, thriving in a culture of excellence.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager will be instrumental in supporting the successful execution of our construction projects by assisting the Vice President with day-to-day operations. This role will report to the Vice President.
- Assisting the Vice President, in expediting and completing critical project elements.
- Preparing site documentation.
- Develop and implement project phasing, sequencing plans, and budgeting.
- Prepare and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion.
- Engage in value engineering, procurement, and coordination with consultants and city officials.
- Oversee all aspects of construction management, from pre-construction planning to post-construction closeout.
- Facilitate development and construction permits.
- Lead meetings, manage subcontractor contracts, and maintain detailed schedules and budgets.
- Uphold high construction standards and enforce quality control measures.
- Review project plans and specifications, providing feedback on design, potential cost savings, and construction challenges.
- Foster effective communication with the Design Team, City Officials, and Trades.
- Coordinate municipal inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and control labor, material, equipment, and site expenses.
- Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities.
- Assist the Vice President with additional tasks as needed.
- Negotiate and award subcontracts, as required.
- Assume responsibility for the successful completion of projects based on project costs, quality and duration.
