Our Distribution & Transmission West group is currently looking to add a Heavy Duty Haul Truck Driver to the Logistics team, based in Edmonton, AB.
Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, we are looking for skilled, safety-conscious drivers who can efficiently manage routes, maintain compliance with industry regulations, and work collaboratively within a team. The Haul Truck Driver is responsible for safely transport permitted loads while adhering to transportation laws and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 vehicles to transport permitted loads
- Plan and follow efficient routes while meeting project timelines
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
- Adhere to transportation laws, safety protocols, and company policies
- Accurately maintain driving logs, vehicle inspection reports, and regulatory paperwork
- Follow proper load securement procedures as per the Commercial Vehicle Safety Regulation (CVSR)
- Operate trucks safely in various weather and road conditions
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
- 3 years of experience in truck operation or heavy haul driving
- Proven understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and National Safety Code (NSC) standards and ability to comply with Commercial Vehicle Safety and Compliance Framework
- Knowledge of vehicle safety systems, load securement, and maintenance protocols
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment
