Resource Profile:
- Work with business and technical teams to provide Guidewire technical analysis, support and expertise for a large scale Claims data transformation program of on-premise applications to the Cloud. Manage and improve the quality of data by optimizing processes for the analysis, evaluation, and validation of data. Develop proactive approaches, data analysis tools and methods to support the profiling, evaluation, and validation of client Claims Data quality.
- Develop various comprehensive policies, procedures, standards, reports and/or presentations on a regular or ad hoc basis to communicate current and desired future state of data quality and integrity at client.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to management on developing and executing data-cleansing initiatives for the purpose of improving, purging, and eliminating corrupt, missing, or redundant information from enterprise systems.
Resource Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise and contribute to the analysis, development, enhancement of the Data Transformation workstream and manage processes and practices related to data analysis, quality to ensure data accuracy, viability, traceability, integrity, and value. This includes in-depth expertise related to:
- Identifying Claims data quality risk, facilitating root-cause analysis, as well as resolving and communicating data quality issues impacting business analytics
- Creation of data mappings at a data element level from source to target applications
- Developing data quality monitors, models, processes, and controls
- Leading projects that perform Claims data quality assessment, conversion, monitoring, and validation
- Aligning activities and deliverables of Claims Data Transformation to the Data Governance Framework and roadmap and contributing to the data strategy mandate
- Leveraging data quality industry best practices
- Coordinate and facilitate in-depth workshops with the client technical departments and business areas to elicit review, confirm and document source to target data mappings, functional specifications, business process re-engineering, information management architecture, business models, and transformation rules and user interface design.
- Conduct impact analyses and assessments including AS-IS(On Prem) and TO-BE(Cloud) analysis and provide recommendations of options/solutions based on analysis.
- Responsible for the creation of data validation processes to ensure reliability and integrity of data solutions provided to the business.
- Provide support in creation of mapping and data lineage documentation from Source to Landing
- Responsible for assessing and validating data quality, ensuring data integrity during migrations, and providing technical guidance to modernization teams.
- Establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with delivery partners, consultants internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and integrity of client data; Advise projects on the design and execution of data quality initiatives, guidelines, and standards. Provide specialized technical assistance and advice to other staff in data quality and integrity analysis and in the development of data quality measures.
- Act as an expert on data quality aspects of the client reporting and analytics data which includes: development of complex queries and reports to extract, merge and compile data; in depth knowledge of business rules for data transformation, business definitions, dimensions and measures. Help in identifying data elements critical to business functions, conducting data analysis to validate the data elements, and gathering business rules for data quality analysis and monitoring.
- Create and deliver comprehensive and professional data quality metrics/dashboards, reports and/or presentations for client management, internal and external partners on a monthly basis or as needed, tailoring deliverables to appropriate level of detail and with the appropriate client focus.
- Lead and/or participate in data quality projects of varying in scope and complexity by creating and implementing project plans, including the gathering of requirements, determining objectives and timeframes, planning and conduct User Acceptance Testing, creating detailed Work Plans and Project Status reports.
- Provide client education in support of Data Quality initiatives by identifying training needs, providing support for any formal training required to maintain data quality and integrity, provide mentoring on the understanding of client data and demonstrations or training on how to effectively use data profiling tools available.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills
MUST HAVE:
- 10+ year's professional experience in Information Technology or Information Management and
- 5+ years prior experience in data transformation/quality or data management or applications functions.
- 5+ years proven experience data analysis and mapping data from multiple sources to multiple target databases and identifying the transformation rules.
- 5+ year experience of Guidewire (GW) Insurance Suite including BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, Contact Manager, GW Studio, GW DBCC (Database Consistency Checks) & GW Data Management tools.
- 5+ years' experience in data integration, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting and data extraction from diverse data sources (e.g. SAP, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Excel, etc.) into target systems.
- Strong working knowledge on RDBMS (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL, DB2) and hands on experience on multiple databases including expertise in SQL language.
- Knowledge of SDLC and Agile Methodologies: Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience reading and understanding IBM Datastage Jobs and Datasets will be preferred.
- Experience reading and understanding Mainframe scripts/Jobs and Datasets will be preferred.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders and teams.
- Experience working with Canadian government or insurance-related systems.
