Our client is searching for a Data Conversion and Data Migration Consultant to join their team. This role will be responsible for playing a key role in large-scale COTS/SaaS implementations supporting the team of ETL developers through data migration or data conversion. A successful candidate will lead and support the existing team through complex enterprise projects, including ERP Systems, Offender/Jail Management Systems and other enterprise applications.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Lead the end-to-end data conversion processes for ERP and Offender/Jail Management System implementations
- Collaborate with clients to understand existing data structures, legacy systems, and migration requirements
- Design and manage data conversion strategies, including but not limited to mapping, transformation logic, and cleansing processes
- Coordinate and execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities
- Develop data validation and testing strategies to ensure successful data conversion
- Looking for and developing efficiencies to support current and future data migration and conversion engagements
- Using the newest tools and practices to ensure efficient and accurate data migration and conversion activities
- Work closely with the team, the client, and the solution vendor to ensure data integrity, accuracy and alignment with the business needs
- Document processes, configuration, and procedures
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth data hand off
- 10+ years of experience in data migration or data conversion roles, preferably in complex enterprise environments
- Proven track record leading or managing data migration projects for ERP implementations
- Experience with offender or jail management systems is a strong asset
- Experience working with municipal governments is an asset
- Strong technical understanding of ETL processes, data profiling, and data quality techniques
