Position: Payroll Manager

Location: Downtown Toronto

We're currently seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee payroll operations across the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate processing of payroll, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the integrity of payroll-related financial reporting.

You'll work closely with internal stakeholders including Finance and People & Culture to support compensation programs, audits, and cross-functional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles across multiple provinces

- Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts

- Oversee remittances (WCB, EHT/QHIP, CRA, RPP, RRSP, etc.) and year-end reporting (T4, RL-1)

- Maintain accurate records within ADP Workforce Now and respond to audit and government agency requests

- Deliver training to site-based timekeepers and ensure consistent payroll practices across the organization

- Stay current with all federal and provincial payroll legislation and reporting requirements

- Liaise with pension providers to ensure accuracy of retirement contributions

- Contribute to payroll-related audits, grant notifications, and controls testing

Payroll Manager Skills & Qualifications:

- PCP designation (required); a bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Finance, or Accounting is preferred

- 5+ years of payroll experience across multiple Canadian provinces

- Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, HRIS systems, and payroll/accounting software

- Proficient in Excel, with a solid grasp of pension/benefits legislation and Workers' Compensation practices

- A detail-oriented, adaptable professional with excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
