Safety Supervisor- Remote Job Site

Position Summary:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations on construction sites. This role involves conducting inspections, promoting a culture of safety, and supporting teams in maintaining safe work environments.
Rotation & Travel Details:
- Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week off

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures
- Lead site safety orientations and toolbox talks for workers
- Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and safety violations
- Monitor and maintain safety documentation, including hazard assessments, safety meeting records, and inspection reports
- Coordinate with site supervisors and project managers to address safety concerns and corrective actions
- Stay up to date on local health and safety regulations and best practices
- Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans
- Promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the project
Qualifications:
- Certification in Occupational Health & Safety or related field (e.g., NCSO, CRSP, CHSO)
- 2+ years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of provincial OHS legislation and construction safety standards
- Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a field environment
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Working at Heights, Confined Space, or other relevant safety training
- Experience with safety management software (e.g., SiteDocs)
Location Notice:
This position is for a project located in Red Lake, Ontario. While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, we strongly encourage applications from individuals residing in or near the surrounding areas such as Fort Frances, Kenora, Dryden and other nearby communities. Preference may be given to candidates who are local to the project site due to logistical and operational considerations.
