Job Title: Digital Product Designer-Advanced (Content Designer)

Location: Toronto, ON

Duration: 12 Months

Type: Full-Time, Contract

Description:

What will the designer be working on?

The designer will be working on designing solutions for the Investments Mega Journey which include services and platforms that caters to both company clients and internal advisors and is presented in a web responsive format. The designer will work closely with a cross-functional team and various stakeholders to define the experience and requirements to meet business objectives and user needs.

Main responsibilities:

  • Creates content artifacts for digital media to exchange information, elicit emotion and facilitate interaction.
  • In the form of UI content, accessibility content, labels, explanatory text, hidden or alternative text, metadata, support and go-to-market content to explore, communicate intent, and validate ideas for complex systems and inter-related client experiences.
  • Understand the problem/opportunity and use ‘design thinking' methods to formulate solutions.
  • Collaborate with the design team and cross-functional partners to align on solutions and its delivery.
  • Partners with peers to shape and develop non-textual content (i.e. iconography, information graphics, imagery and data).
  • Performs Content Design audits where appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to ensure all content satisfies governance requirements while still meeting clients' needs.
  • Manages end-to-end translation process with internal and external partners.
  • Apply content guidelines and standards to ensure solutions adhere to company tone and voice.

  • Understands and employs mobile-first thinking.
  • Open to different point of views and willing to learn new concepts and approaches.

Must have skills:

  • 4 to 7 years of experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Content Design methodologies.
  • Strong technical understanding and expertise in Content Design practice theory / tools.
  • Strong verbal and copywriting skills.
  • User centered design foundation (Prioritizing user needs, pain points, behaviours).
  • Effective communication & collaboration skills.

Nice to have skills:

  • Product design experience with understanding of product development practices.
  • Leading and facilitating workshops.
  • Has worked with large design teams and multiple stakeholders (Product/Business/Technical partners).
  • Research and user testing.

Program/technology/software knowledge:

Figma, Mural, Confluence, and JIRA are used on a daily basis utilizing their respective functions.

Soft skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective collaboration with designers and cross-functional team members.
  • Stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • Project and time management.
