INTERMEDIATE ACCOUNTANT - 14 MONTH CONTRACT

JOB DUTIES:

We are looking for a self-starter that is organized, quick-minded, has a can-do attitude, enjoys working independently and with a team. You are someone that is capable of deciphering through problems and issues to present and find solutions, and has a passion for accounting. This role works alongside a team of three other in-house accounting professionals, and is full-time contract position for 14 months.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Full cycle bookkeeping
• Month-end and year-end posting, closing accounting activities. Prepare books for year-end financial statements.
• Prepare Monthly Financial Reports.
• Reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare GST returns.
• Assist with other year-end tasks and audit queries as required.
• Provide coverage for AP during vacation or other time periods, if required.
• Prepare ad-hoc accounting reports (i.e.: expense reports, insurance reports/costs etc.)
• Maintain records and accounting files; verifies, allocates and posts detailed transactions to subsidiary accounts.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years minimum of experience in intermediate accounting role.
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in accounting or related field.
• Construction and real estate development accounting experience is an asset.
• Experience working with subsidiary accounts is an asset.
• Intermediate skills in MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience using Jonas, Sage, and Yardi is considered an asset.
