Mission-Critical/Process PLC Developer

Its rapidly growing manufacturing and professional services group has offices and manufacturing in Toronto, Brampton, Montreal, and Arizona (Xn Chiller). We seek energetic individuals to join our mission-critical data center development team.
The mission-critical team deploys cutting-edge, specialized control solutions for high-speed oil-free compression technologies, large capacity HVAC equipment and mission-critical environment (data center) system controls.
We seek an experienced PLC programmer with process or HVAC application experience to support our R&D operations by developing and programming control logic for new and existing products.
Core Responsibilities:
- Participate in developing, testing, and troubleshooting new products deployed on various PLC platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), National Instruments, and Carel.
- Developing and maintaining HMI Solutions.
- Support field installation, testing, and maintenance of equipment, PLC programs, and system commissioning
- Apply engineering principles, primarily focused on thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics/dynamics/compression, properties, controls, and power electronics.
- Hands-on troubleshooting with tools.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge and experience of Process and/or HVAC systems.
- Knowledge and advanced industry experience in PLC programming, with experience in Structured Text Language.
Siemens SIMATIC and/or Carel pCO Sistema Systems
Rockwell Studio 5000
Communications protocols include Ethernet IP, Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP, etc.
Experience with relevant HMI/SCADA software.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills (English), capable of interacting with clients and team members daily.
- Ability to take direction while working in a fast-paced team and collaborative environment, must be able to multitask and maintain organization and continuity.
- Very comfortable with Windows-based computer systems and computer networks.
Additional desired skills:
- Experience with Linux-based OS.
- Experience with power electronics, variable speed drives and fluid handling equipment.
- Ignition HMI.
- C++ programming experience.
- LabVIEW programming experience.
Qualifications and Education Required:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience within a related field.
- Mechanical, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science Degree (4 years).
OR
- Electronic, Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical/Electrical Technologist Diploma or similar with seven (7) years of experience and an active CET.
Compensation:
- Salary ranges from $65,000 to $115,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Three (3) weeks of vacation.
- Ten (10) paid days off (sick days).

Schedule:
- The typical work week is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- On-site attendance in the GTA office and factory is required.
- Occasional overtime or after-hours/weekend work is required.

- Applicants must be capable of completing an RCMP and police background check.
- Applicants must have an active full driver's license from a Canadian province for a minimum of three (3) years.
