Position Overview:
The Senior Marketing Manager shapes and delivers strategic marketing programs for consumers and healthcare professionals, with a focus on business growth and enhancing market performance. This role is multifaceted and is akin to being a General Manager for the brand. A key component of the position is to translate marketing strategies into sales execution plans. Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical skills, exhibit entrepreneurial flair and have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Brand Management & Strategy Development:
- Develop comprehensive brand plans with objectives, strategies and tactics to drive growth and achieve targets
- Leverage market data & client brands decks to build compelling fact-based selling presentations & sell sheets
- Lead new product launches and line reviews ensuring the right position, pricing and forecasts in place for a successful launch
- Develop & achieve annual budget/sales targets
- Leverage industry data to identify opportunities, risks, and strategies for growth -Conduct point of sale (POS), AC Nielsen, shipment, pricing & GAP analyses
Professional Marketing:
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, Key Opinion Leaders, and industry associations to elevate brand visibility, support marketing initiatives, and acquisition of market insights
- Manage tradeshow planning, sampling opportunities, and sponsorships
- Lead the development and execution of professional marketing strategies targeting healthcare professionals (HCPs), including pharmacists and physicians, to drive recommendation and endorsement of the brand
Reporting:
- Track trade-spend and business performance and support sales planning processes
- Provide reports and performance updates to internal & external stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making
- Create & manage project trackers for new item launches, product packaging changes, price increases, and other ad hoc projects
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers and the Insights team to ensure alignment on marketing and sales initiatives
- Collaborate with Supply Chain team on forecast and demand planning in support of core business and innovation
- Manage relationships with clients providing regular status updates on ongoing projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of Marketing/Brand Management experience (CPG mandatory)
- Post-secondary marketing or business degree
- Proven track record of managing a diverse portfolio of brands and developing successful strategies for continued growth
- Previous experience with OTC brands and DIN and/or NHP skus
- Experience developing and executing HCP-targeted marketing strategies and educational materials
- Familiarity with compliance requirements for professional marketing in regulated categories
- Strong relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals, KOLs, and industry stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills - expertise working with Nielsen data
- Strategic Storyteller: In conversation, in presentation, with data, via PowerPoint & Excel
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage a diverse portfolio of products and tasks
- Experience managing, training and developing people, prior experience with support staff and direct reports is an asset
- Experience in relationship management and cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point
