About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Product Engineer – Associate to join our engineering team in Windsor, ON. This role supports the design, development, and validation of automotive components—most often within powertrain systems, but may also include chassis, thermal, or body components. The ideal candidate is early in their career and eager to apply engineering fundamentals to real-world vehicle programs in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, release, and validation of automotive components throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and suppliers.

  • Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of design, performance, and manufacturing issues.

  • Maintain engineering documentation such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and change notices.

  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEAs, and test plan development.

  • Analyze data from lab or vehicle tests and support implementation of design improvements.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure components meet all specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (required).

  • 2–5 years of engineering experience, preferably in the automotive or transportation industry.

  • Familiarity with automotive systems—especially powertrain, drivetrain, or thermal systems—is an asset.

  • Proficiency with CAD software (CATIA, NX, or similar) and ability to read engineering drawings.

  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and engineering databases/tools.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to DFMEA, DVPR, or engineering release systems (such as Teamcenter, ENOVIA, or Windchill).

  • Experience working with suppliers or in a plant/manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and durability testing standards.
