Position: Graphic Designer
Employment: Part-time (20 hrs/wk approx.), 12-month contract
Location: Dundas, ON (hybrid - office-based and WFH)
Are you a Graphic Designer that loves to see the impact of your work? Do you enjoy collaborationand digging deep on how to deliver the best creative across multiple print and digital platforms? Are you driven to produce creative and designs that communicate clearly and set brands apart?
As a Graphic Designer at Worksite Safety, you will be responsible for delivering a range of projects that create exceptional experiences for users, including designing learning materials used by tens of thousands of people every year, developing digital ads that set us apart, and supporting our broader communication efforts with designs that engage our audience. Please note that this is a 12-month contract position.
Your time will be split between:
- Working collaboratively with the learning development team in the ongoing design of new online learning and printed training material concepts and executions (60%)
- Development and design of custom illustrations, and a wide range of graphic assets to support the ongoing online and offline needs of marketing (20%)
- Designing ad creative to support our direct marketing efforts across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram and the Google Display Network (10%)
- Designing website layout mockups for the development team. (10%)
Core Competencies
You should feel comfortable saying you meet all of these requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of professional design experience
- Art/graphic/web design degree or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite for Mac
- Experience in presentation design in PowerPoint
- Experience laying out documents in Adobe InDesign for print production
- Understanding of design architecture, colour theory and typography
- Uncompromising attention to detail and highest degree of quality control
- Knowledge of best practices for production and digital graphics
Potential Specializations
Every creative has a few unique skills of their own in addition to the core items, and we think any combination of these skills would be especially valuable:
- Web page design experience including design for mobile and responsive
- Experience creating custom illustrations in Adobe Illustrator
- Video production and editing/post experience
- Digital Photographyand photo-editing experience
- Experience in creating template designs in eLearning software
