Position Summary:

Responsible for developing and maintaining production routings and bills of material based on engineering documentation. Plans material flow, labor, and tooling requirements for both new and existing products while ensuring the timely processing of customer RFQs and resolving issues across departments. Acts as a liaison between Engineering and manufacturing plants, supporting sales and marketing by providing accurate pricing, tooling requirements, and lead times. Plays a key role in conducting margin reviews and ensuring successful new product launches.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Ready for Quotes (RFQs), and Process Change Requests (PCRs).
  • Perform make/buy analysis by reviewing technical drawings (DWGs).
  • Verify existing tooling availability with the tooling department.
  • Interpret engineering releases to develop production routings and estimate labor requirements.
  • Utilize routing manuals and calculators to update production routings, confirming accuracy with the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Assess material availability, cost, and lead time with Supply Chain.
  • Apply First Article Inspection (FAI) operations and planner codes while determining lead time and cost.
  • Collaborate across departments to implement engineering changes efficiently.
  • Calculate pricing and update external customer price lists.
  • Provide customer pricing through RFQ processes and evaluate tooling needs.
  • Maintain accurate customer data and pricing information within the system.
  • Support production restructuring efforts and manage non-standard requests.
  • Generate and analyze reports for auditing and departmental support.
  • Assist in the adoption of new materials to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Participate in sales meetings to discuss new product launches and customer needs.
  • Contribute to customer negotiations by providing detailed cost breakdowns and lead time estimates.
  • Conduct margin reviews to ensure product profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, schedule, and execute new product introductions.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Technology, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Lean certification preferred.
  • Background in labor and materials planning within an MRP environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Oracle.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Adaptability and multitasking capability.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
