About the Role:

YMCA of Northern Alberta is looking for candidates who enjoy teaching and developing others to fill the positions of Level 1 Early Childhood Educator to provide high quality care and service to families in YMCA Child Care programs by implementing and teaching programs.

During school hours- Split shift from 7-9a/ 3-6p daily basis except Thursday 7-9a/ 2-6p.

During non-school days and summertime- Flexible hours between 7 am to 6 pm.

Responsibilities:

-Consistently represent YMCA's values and mission, comply with all YMCA Policies, procedures and Provincial Licensing regulations

- Work and communicate with a team to implement Child Care curriculum which may include Playing to Learn, FLIGHT and A Place to Connect.

- Guide and redirect children in situations when conflicts arise using a variety of positive child guidance techniques

- Ensure children are accounted for at all times

- Treat all families respectfully, bearing in mind their values, culture and background

- Build relationships with families and communicate, verbally and in writing on a daily basis

- Commit to Health and Safety and Child Protection Policies and Procedures

- Consistently provide a safe and clean environment following all cleaning procedures

Qualifications:

-Experience working with children

- Level 1 Child Care Certification

- Standard or Child Care First Aid & CPR – C

- Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check
