Dasro is looking for a PowerBuilder Technical Lead for one of its clients in Regina, SK

Location: Regina, SK (onsite)

Duration: 3-year contract

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement application programs and reports using PowerBuilder and Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise).
• Maintain and support existing PowerBuilder applications (specifically BTS and CTO toolsets).
• Participate in system analysis and design sessions with business stakeholders.
• Ensure applications are optimized, reliable, and meet user requirements.
• Document application design and technical specifications.
• Assist in application migration projects to modern platforms (e.g., .NET or other client-selected platforms).
• Provide user support and training where required.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business units to understand and implement change requests.
• Comply with IT and enterprise-wide policies and procedures related to development and support.
• Conduct unit and integration testing; assist in user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Support defect management and resolution processes.

Mandatory Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or an IT technical diploma with experience working in the IT sector.
• Demonstrated experience as a Senior PowerBuilder Technical Lead, including leadership in design, development, and implementation of major application enhancements or new projects.
• Demonstrated experience with PowerBuilder IDE 2022+.
• Demonstrated experience leading, planning, and performing PowerBuilder software version upgrades.

Nice to Have

• Advanced experience with PowerBuilder IDE 2022+ including OLE, PFC, and Superclass components.
• Demonstrated leadership in PowerBuilder projects, including estimating, planning, requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation.
• Experience with Oracle Databases (versions 9, 11, 12, 19).
• Experience with QA methods and processes.
• Experience using version control tools such as Visual Source Safe, SVN, StarTeam, or Git.
• Experience creating technical documentation and operational guides.
• Experience with application support and incident management.
