Position Summary
The Installers role is to install modular and off-modular commercial office furnishings, movable walls, window coverings, and/or box moves following all company procedures and safety guidelines. Responsibilities may include driving, loading, and/or offloading of trucks. The position reports to the Operations Manager and designated Team Lead. The ability to meet all client requirements such as a clean criminal record check as well as post-offer drug and alcohol test, along with the willingness and availability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime is required. A clean and current drivers abstract is also required prior to operating any company motorized vehicles.

Job Responsibilities
Installation:
o Reviews detailed Installation Plan and ensures equipment and/or product is all accounted for;
o As assigned, communicates with client representative to confirm delivery onsite arrival time and confirmation of order completion at end of task;
o As assigned, loads, transports product and team members, completes site-readiness assessment, and offloads at designated drop site;
o Completes Hazard Assessment review and documentation; adheres and promotes all company and safety policies, procedures, and protocols;
o Checks product accuracy, stages product, and build, installs, services, and/or repairs as per technical design drawings;
o Conducts final quality check including, but not limited to, visual alignment, design specifications, cleanliness, and completion requirements;
o Completes all required paperwork, pictures, and completion documentation and submits in a timely manner;
o Communicates with key stakeholders prior to leaving client site, and shares critical knowledge and information in a timely fashion.
o Customizes project product for specialized client application, as assigned;

Driving
Vehicle:
o Completes all pre-and post-vehicle check lists and reports all issues and/or damages as per company policy and procedures;
o Ensures vehicle is properly loaded and secured with back door closed and latched properly;
o Ensures vehicle is emptied at the end of the business day;
o Operates the vehicle in a safe and respectful manner in accordance with bylaws and all other regulatory requirements;
o Maintains the upkeep and cleanliness of the vehicle after each use.
Identifies and recommends continuous improvement in all aspects of installation, services, and repairs to achieve improvements in customer service and satisfaction, project success, process reliability, safety, cost improvement, and culture support;
Completes other duties as assigned/required.
Position is based on a 40-hour work week; however incumbent may be required to work outside of regular hours to meet business requirements;
Subject to pre-approval, position is eligible for overtime compensation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities.
Experience working with hand and power tools is required.
Prior experience working in a fast-paced operations and/or manufacturing environment.
Previous experience working in the commercial furnishing, moveable walls, and/or window-coverings industry(s) or equivalent is desirable.
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime is required;
Ability to provide a clean criminal record check and/or pass a drug and alcohol post-offer test to meet client requirements as required;
Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 pounds and physically bend and move to perform all job functions.
Effective English-language communication skills to verbally communicate, understand, comprehend, and comply with all job requirements.
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision;

Having and maintaining a clean and valid drivers license, either Class 5 or Class 3 (preferred) is preferred;
Experience working with medium-to-large motorized tools is an asset.

Background

The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to partial high school education. The person can read and write so as to communicate easily, and/or can count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is six months to one year.

Ongoing work assignments typically have clearly defined goals. The incumbent's education, training, and previous experience ensure work assignments are successfully carried out because he/she understands what is expected, as well as the best approach to take.

Physical or muscular ability and dexterity are at a level that allows the person to perform a variety of manual tasks where close adjustment is required and a high degree of whole body coordination is normally involved.

Referring to the work aids used in performing the work, the job requires minimal technology training. The operation of any machines or equipment can be learned in a matter of minutes.
