Claims Examiner

Trident Global Assistance is looking for four Claims Examiner to join the company on a full-time basis. Currently, this position works from home but may be required to work from the office in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Manage mid to high-level complexity travel insurance claims;
• Verify coverage;
• Timely and accurately analyze and address coverage issues under insurance policies;
• Conduct timely and effective investigations of claims using internal and external resources;
• Determine eligibility for coverage based on the policy terms and conditions;
• Identify subrogation and coordination of benefits opportunities; subrogate and coordinate benefits where applicable;
• Set timely and accurate expense reserves. Manage reserves throughout the life cycle of each claim while documenting any reserve changes;
• Accurately record claims information, conversations and decisions in the system;
• Assist with claim inquiries;
• Build and maintain relationships with external and internal customers to include insureds, providers and underwriters;
• Actively participate as a member of the Claims team contributing ideas and efforts towards reaching department objectives and goals and supporting collaborative work environment;
• Assist with training and mentoring new claims staff;
• Take additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
• Time management and organizational skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
• Proficiency with MS Office and Internet
• Passion for providing exceptional customer service
• Required Education: Post-secondary education
• Required Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in adjudicating travel insurance claims
• Required Languages: French (fully bilingual) and English
• Training provided by the company
