We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Press Operators at our Brampton Extrusion Plant.

Position Summary
The Assistant Press Operator is responsible to prepare dies for production runs and assist the press operators in running the press to produce good quality parts.
What You'll Do
  • Assist the press operator with machinery set up and ensure all required materials are readily available
  • Prepare the dies in die ovens for production runs based on the press schedule
  • Use the overhead lift assist to move the dies through the workstation
  • Monitor the production equipment and report any machine issue to the supervisor and maintenance team in a timely manner
  • Meet daily targets for schedule adherence, activation, etc.
  • Follow work instructions to ensure the production of good quality parts
  • Assist in other areas on the line, such as packing, as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
  • Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
Required Skills
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing environment is an asset
Working Conditions
  • Plant Environment
  • Twelve hour rotating continental shift
  • Exposure to loud noise and heat
  • May be required to lift up to 50lbs
