Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop paint programs and program paint robots for new model parts
- Work with TG Design group on new model drawings to develop paint callouts / ranges on drawings.
- Coordinate with TG MED group on paint materials, systems and performance testing of new materials / system in accordance to customer engineering specs
- Create and updated process plans for assigned painted parts
- Attend design reviews with TG Design and internal Engineering groups to provide feedback / request changes to drawings
- Design paint jigs and work with outside vendors on fabrication of jigs. Monitor status to ensure jigs are received on time as per schedule
- Develop new product / colour with paint suppliers
- Attend customer colour evaluations for pre and mass production, tune process based on customer feedback
- Work with production department to run High Volume Production Trials on new parts, confirm process capability and support in training production for handover from pre-production to mass production.
- Prepare and update visual control chart
- Trial paint process and document all the trial results in Trial Summary for process improvement
- Prepare PFS and MSCNs to countermeasure problems and tune manufacturing procedures
- Confirm part appearance after programing robot painting and fine tune the process for improvement
- Prepare condition standards and startup work instructions.
- Run HVPT to validate process meets CT and defect ratio.
- Provide training and process support to production at SOP and other process engineers.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement countermeasures.
- Implement process changes and update process plans in order to meets CT and defect ratio.
- Kaizen processes to eliminate waste and reduce cost.
- Work with Process Technicians for Preventive maintenance activities on paint booth equipment

Education or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with engineering specialization; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three years in the automotive industry.
- Experience working with Paint Processes in a Manufacturing Setting is considered an Asset
