About the Opportunity
Protocase is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Maintenance and Operations team in Sydney (Cape Breton), Nova Scotia. Protocases two production facilities are busy environments where every enclosure, panel and part ordered is custom-manufactured from scratch. Our customers around the world depend on us to make professional-grade custom sheet metal and CNC Machined products that meet their specifications, all within our signature 23-day manufacturing turnaround time. In order to meet our stringent quality requirements and crucial on-time targets, we need a Maintenance Technician with a strong attention to detail and the ability to think on their feet that can help maintain and improve our manufacturing equipment and facility.

What Youll Do
As our Maintenance Technician, youll report directly to the Maintenance Leadership Team and work closely with our team to ensure that machinery and equipment are running at peak performance. In our fast-moving environment, your ability to multi-task and stay focused will be essential. Your day-to-day will include:
- Performing regular preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to reduce downtime.
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions and resolving production outages.
- Keeping our maintenance tracking software up to date with equipment status and logs.
- Sourcing repair parts and coordinating with external vendors for timely delivery.
- Communicating equipment status and repair updates with management and production teams.
- Working alongside your maintenance teammates to boost performance and support growth in our manufacturing capabilities.
This role requires after-hours and on-call availability, including weekends, to quickly address critical equipment issues and maintain our production momentum.

What Were Looking For
Were looking for someone whos both technically skilled and a team player. Ideal candidates will have:
- A diploma, certificate, or completion of an apprenticeship program is an asset.
- Two or more years of experience in a troubleshooting/maintenance role.
- Experience in Electrical background will be an asset.
- Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Proven abilities in problem solving and strong decision-making skills
- Commitment to following procedures and attention to detail
- Self-starter who is able to take initiative, while also seeking the expertise of others as needed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Team-player attitude
