Job Description

Position Summary:

The Gobind Marg Charitable Trust Foundation is looking for a Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, event coordination, staff management, community kitchen, and overall administration of Darbar Sahib. This role ensures that all religious services, community programs, and facility operations are carried out efficiently, respectfully, and in alignment with Sikh values and Gurmat Maryada.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Operations Management:

  • Supervise all routine activities including cleanliness, facility upkeep, and security.
  • Cash Management.
  • Ensure langar (community kitchen) operations run smoothly and hygienically.
  • Coordinate with sevadars and volunteers to ensure timely execution of daily duties.
  • Monitor facility supplies, maintenance needs, and vendor services.

2. Staff & Volunteer Supervision:

  • Recruit, train, and manage staff and volunteers.
  • Prepare shift schedules and delegate tasks to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Provide ongoing support and performance feedback to team members.

3. Event & Program Coordination:

  • Plan and oversee religious events (Gurpurabs, Akhand Path, Weddings, etc.).
  • Coordinate logistics for visiting Ragi Jathas, speakers, and cultural groups.
  • Work with the committee to ensure events align with spiritual guidelines.

4. Administrative Oversight:

  • Maintain accurate records for bookings, donations, inventory, and expenses.
  • Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and financial reporting to the management.
  • Handle communication with the sangat regarding events and updates.

5. Community Engagement:

  • Serve as the point of contact for public and community inquiries.
  • Foster a welcoming and respectful environment for all visitors and devotees.
  • Support educational and youth programs in partnership with the committee.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in operations, administration, or event management.
  • Fluent in Punjabi and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Sikh traditions, values, and religious protocols.
  • Competence in basic office software (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace).
