We're hiring a Summer Program Coordinator to help bring our youth and family programs to life in July and August 2025! This hybrid role offers a mix of in-person work in Kitchener, one office day per week in Cambridge, and some tasks that can be done remotely.
The Coordinator will help ensure smooth program delivery, support participant engagement, and document activities through photos and videos.
- Position: Summer Program Coordinator
- Term: July–August 2025 (Start date: June 30th)
- Location: Hybrid — mix of on-site (Kitchener), office (Cambridge), and some remote tasks
- Schedule: 15–25 hours/week, with the possibility of additional hours depending on program needs
- Pay: $20/hour
- Reports to: Program Manager
- Ideal for: Students, recent grads, youth workers, or anyone passionate about community programming
Responsibilities:
- Support the daily delivery of our summer programs, (e.g., Swim to Survive, Soccer, Family Fishing Picnic)
- Track and record participant attendance and monitor engagement during activities
- Supervise daily drop-off and pick-up, ensuring children are released only to parents or legal guardians
- Ensure food and snacks are available and properly distributed during programs
- Assist with setup and takedown of materials before and after program sessions
- Facilitate group discussions and lead confidence-building and life skills activities
- Mentor participants and help foster a welcoming, supportive environment
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and program staff
- Capture photos and videos during programs and upload them to a shared folder for the team to access.
- Attend weekly in-person meetings and occasional training sessions
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or youth (e.g., camps, schools, after-school programs)
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Comfortable using a smartphone or camera to capture photos and videos during programs
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage responsibilities across multiple sites
- Comfortable engaging with families and facilitating group activities
- Access to a car and a valid G driver's license (required)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (asset; willingness to obtain is required)
- Standard First Aid & CPR certification (asset; willingness to obtain is required)
