Senior Analyst, Investments
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a seasoned Analyst to support the acquisitions team, working directly with the group head and supporting a growing pipeline of multi-family properties.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated relationship builder, with a passion for multires real estate, experienced with underwriting IPP deals, and a desire to join a dynamic team. In addition, they will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for supporting a growing portfolio of income producing assets. This individual should possess strong analytical and underwriting skills to oversee properties from acquisition through due diligence and into operation. This person is a driven professional with a positive and collaborative attitude, with a no task is too big or too small mindset, and who is excited about joining a growing team.
The base salary range is $100,000 - $120,000 based on level of industry experience and exposure, plus bonus, benefits and vacation. Our client is an advocate for equity and diversity and recognizes the importance of leadership engagement within its framework.
Responsibilities
- Lead and prepare underwriting for potential acquisitions and dispositions, including comprehensive financial analysis and return metrics.
- Conduct extensive financial analysis, market research, and due diligence for acquisition, disposition, and financing opportunities.
- Compile and prepare financial packages for prospective purchasers, brokers, and lenders by collaborating closely with internal teams.
- Coordinate and support due diligence throughout various investment processes (acquisition, disposition, financing), identify key findings.
- Work with Asset Management, Construction, and Property Management teams to develop and refine asset-specific investment strategies for new acquisitions and existing assets in preparation for financing or disposition.
- Review quarterly reforecast models to validate and advise on financing and transaction assumptions, and perform loan-sizing analysis for assets with upcoming loan maturities.
- Oversee workstreams and coordinate among internal and external stakeholders during transaction and closing processes.
- Prepare investment memorandums, presentations, and materials for the Investment Committee.
- Participate in the preparation and review of legal documentation, as well as strategic discussions at both portfolio and corporate levels, providing analytical support as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions, and participate in transaction negotiations by offering ideas and observations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate investments and acquisitions, with exposure to multi-residential properties from an equity investments lens a requirement
- University Degree in Real Estate, Business Management or Administration, or a related field required. CFA/MBA/CAIA a strong asset
- Strong understanding and involvement in all aspects of property due diligence, not just underwriting deals.
- Proficiency in real estate modeling, including valuations, returns, and waterfall distributions
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with a successful track record in working with stakeholders of multiple disciplines
- Demonstrates excellent project management and presentation skills with an emphasis on leading the underwriting process directly
- Excels in a high volume, dynamic and fast-paced environment and enjoys new challenges
- Highly collaborative and self-motivated
- Skilled in the use of Word, Outlook, and Excel
