Internal Job Title: Vision System Technician
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Job Location: Ottawa, ON
Work Model: On-site
Position Summary
As a Vision System Technician (Automated Inspection System Technician) at CBN, you will be responsible for operating state-of-the-art vision systems that inspect and ensure the print quality of currency, passports and other secure documents for Canada and other countries around the world. You'll helm a variety of vision systems and find yourself challenged daily – the wide range of scenarios that occur within a production environment means that no two days are alike, and most of the vision system's software gives you room to be creative as you trouble-shoot and solve problems.
Responsibilities
Set up the vision systems for new products based on specifications outlined by various internal stakeholders and Quality Engineers.
Ensure the vision systems are modeled accurately and within defined parameters so outputs meet the required customer standard.
Implement model changes (adaptations) on the vision systems that accommodate quality considerations deemed acceptable/unacceptable by internal stakeholders and Quality Engineers and then risk manage those adaptations and confirm the adaptations achieve the desired impact.
Continually monitor the accuracy of all vision systems against established standards and adjust inspection systems as required to meet quality targets, auditing your work to ensure all adjustments deliver the anticipated results.
Troubleshoot as required, primarily by manipulating software to accommodate the need for changes when the current settings and defaults are unable to meet the required demands.
Maintain daily logs of all work, complete shift reports, inspection forms, model change forms, records of changes to adaptations, changes to tolerances, and training note records and ensure that all changes are communicated to the vision team and internal stakeholders.
Clean, calibrate and maintain the vision systems. You'll follow the prescribed preventative maintenance program and perform 1st level maintenance on the vision systems.
