E-Commerce Merchandiser

Your Role at Petcurean: The E-Commerce Merchandiser will support demand generation and implement Petcurean's brand and marketing strategies across e-commerce channels within the assigned territory. This role is responsible for ensuring products are optimally merchandised through regular product page audits, resolving pricing issues in collaboration with the Sales team, and analyzing data to generate actionable insights that drive online sales and business growth. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of e-commerce platforms and the ability to enhance digital presence across multiple online marketplaces. Your Future Team: As a key support role for the E-Commerce Management team, the E-Commerce Merchandiser will work closely with the E-Commerce Manager to assist with sales, campaign management, product content organization, and various e-merchandising initiatives. The role also includes managing new and existing customer and vendor accounts to foster relationships and achieve sales growth.


This is a temporary position expected to last 12-months.


If you were the E-Commerce Merchandiser now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

Catalog Management

  • Coordinate item setup and catalog management with e-commerce vendors end-to-end.
  • Monitor and report on issues related to MAP policy, pricing, and product availability.
  • Plan and execute cross-functional collaboration for new product launches, working closely with pricing, product development, sales and marketing teams.
  • Coordinate the enrollment of items in review programs, promotions, and other vendor-led initiatives through back-end portals.

Site Merchandising & Content Management

  • Maintain site merchandising and content for our catalog on Amazon.Com & Chewy.com to achieve best-in-class, including:
  • Plan and execute the online setup process for national retailers using various online platforms/portals, ensuring that product listings are accurately created and optimized for maximum visibility.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills by resolving any errors that arise within the systems or across retailer platforms. Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting e-commerce performance.
  • Analyze consumer data and provide actionable insights on content performance and opportunities to address consumer challenges.

Sales Growth and Performance Optimization

  • Support online sales growth by ensuring product availability, content, and promotions planning and setup.
  • Evaluate item and brand performance using analysis, data, and consumer insights.
  • Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, best practices, and platform algorithm updates. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose innovative strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

  • E-Commerce Expertise: Proven knowledge of e-commerce merchandising best practices, with a focus on optimizing digital product presence across platforms.
    • Experience with Amazon.com, Chewy.com or other online retail portals a benefit
  • Digital Marketing and Site Merchandising: Experience with catalog management, content marketing, digital marketing, SEO, and copywriting
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior interpersonal abilities to ensure clear communication and collaboration across teams.

  • Return on Time Investment (ROTI): Ability to manage effective Return-On-Time-Investment (ROTI), ensuring time and resources spent are aligned with business priorities and ROI.
