Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Prep Supervisor to lead our prep team in ensuring all materials, tools, and equipment are accurately prepared and ready for use in the production department. This hands-on role involves supervising the prep team, coordinating schedules, maintaining safety standards, and supporting the smooth operation of our greenhouse production flow.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and supervise the prep team by assigning daily tasks and supporting their work to meet production goals
  • Organize, label, and stage production materials such as pots, tags, and UPCs in advance to keep production running smoothly
  • Prepare and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring everything is available and in good working order before production starts
  • Inspect prep work regularly to confirm accuracy, completeness, and quality standards are met
  • Track inventory levels of prep materials and supplies, and promptly report shortages or discrepancies to the Production Manager
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by promoting and enforcing workplace safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Provide hands-on training and ongoing support to new and existing prep team members to build skills and efficiency
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with the Production Manager and other departments to coordinate schedules and address any issues
  • Adapt to changing production demands and offer support in other production areas when necessary, especially during peak or high-volume periods
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including extended shifts during busy seasons, to ensure production targets are met

What You Bring:

  • Experience in greenhouse, production, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, humid greenhouse setting
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet
  • CSA-approved steel toe shoes required
  • Basic computer skills; inventory experience is a plus
  • Spanish language skills are an asset
  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education is a bonus)
  • Flexibility for extended hours during peak seasons

What We Offer:

  • Employer-paid benefits after 3 months
  • RRSP matching after 1 year
  • Free parking
  • Casual dress code
  • A collaborative, supportive team environment
  • Opportunities for training and career development
