Job Title: Computational Scientist
Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
Duration: 12 Month extension possible based on needs and performance
Note: The Hiring team is looking for resumes with more in-depth single-cell experience (and ideally with some immunology background)
The ideal candidate will:
- Conduct in-depth, statistically rigorous analyses of diverse NGS datasets (bulk and scRNA-seq) to produce meaningful biological insights.
- Utilize Client's computational pipelines for end-to-end analysis of both established and new high-throughput assays.
- Work with cross-departmental teams including both experimental and computational biologists.
Required Skills and Experience:
- PhD in bioinformatics, genomics, or computational biology
- Good communication skills, including in data visualization, and a strong interest in exploring biological questions.
- Experience analyzing high-throughput data (bulk and scRNA-seq).
- High-level proficiency in R programming language and Bioconductor packages.
- Strong understanding of experimental design.
- Strong computational and analytical skills.
- Experience working in Linux-based server environments.
- Good data science practices and understanding of statistics and data complexity.
A plus, but not essential:
- Experience in analyzing and working with CRISPR screens and ChIP-seq/ATAC-seq.
- Familiarity with public genomic databases (ENCODE, TCGA, GEO, ArrayExpress).
- Familiarity with or interest in immunology.
