About the Company

This is a hybrid position in Downtown Toronto (2 days a week in the office). This role is with a global company in the financial services industry.

About the Role

You will provide support this company's internal applications, and previous experience in a financial institution will be helpful. You will act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure effective implementation and optimization of applications that meet business needs and comply with evolving regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will...

  • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
  • Evaluate existing processes and systems to identify improvement opportunities and propose actionable solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve application support issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to design and implement scalable business systems.
  • Conduct system testing, validate outputs, and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Design and generate queries, reports, and dashboards using tools such as SQL and Power BI.
  • Monitor system performance, identify root causes of system issues, and collaborate with IT teams to resolve and implement preventative measures.
  • Continuously document and enhance processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and adherence to all compliance policies, including AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Application Support Specialist, or similar.
  • Experience in the financial services sector, particularly in capital markets, banking, wealth management, or similar will be an asset.
  • Proven experience with MS Excel, Power BI and SQL.
  • Familiarity with applications tied to Derivatives Reporting, FINTRAC EFT Reporting, and Document Management Systems.
