Project Summary:
We are undertaking a Secure File Transfer and Collaboration Initiative focused on enabling secure external file sharing and collaboration with business partners. This project will assess and implement Microsoft 365-based solutions to improve compliance, governance, and secure connectivity across B2B tenants.
The Microsoft 365 Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the architectural blueprint for this initiative. This includes evaluating internal capabilities and integrating secure file transfer features within Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, and associated peer systems like Microsoft Purview and Exchange.

Key Objectives:
Design and implement secure file sharing and collaboration capabilities with external tenants.
Develop architecture that ensures governance, compliance, and auditability—especially for Marketing and Legal use cases.
Integrate Microsoft 365 technologies with secure external file transfer solutions (internal vs. third-party evaluation).
Improve upon current practices (e.g., TDS opening firewalls for file drops to external SharePoint).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end design of secure, scalable Microsoft 365 B2B tenant architectures.
Develop high-level architectural blueprints and technical documentation.
Evaluate vendor responses (RFI to 8 vendors) and assess feasibility of internal builds vs. third-party tools.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Security, Infrastructure, Compliance, Marketing, and Legal.
Define best practices for secure content sharing using Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Platform, and Microsoft Purview.
Guide the configuration and customization of Power Apps, SharePoint, and Teams to support secure workflows.
Support deployment and transition planning, working closely with project and technical teams.
Ensure performance, availability, and scalability of the M365 environment in alignment with organizational needs.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 Architect, with a strong focus on B2B tenant solutions and secure collaboration.
Deep technical expertise in Microsoft 365 services including:
SharePoint Online
Microsoft Teams
Exchange Online
Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
Microsoft Purview
Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance frameworks within M365.
Experience with architecture planning for external file transfer and secure external collaboration.
Experience designing applications with medium to high complexity across hybrid or multi-platform environments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or equivalent.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot or other AI-integrated collaboration tools.
Familiarity with hybrid environments and migration strategies to Microsoft 365.
Background in data modeling, secure application design, and compliance-centric development.
