Position Description:

The incumbent will perform technical support duties relating to facility management activities for Norfolk County facilities. Related tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Assist Gas Technicians in various HVAC maintenance and installation duties
• Assist Technicians with on-going building maintenance
• Assist in the collection and organization of facility data and facility drawings
• Assist with HVAC and building engineering tasks
• Assist with the management of facilities capital construction projects
• Assist with the collection, analysis and monitoring of energy data
• Assist with the analysis of energy and sustainability projects
• Assist with the corporate energy conservation awareness program
• Assist with facility component inventory and data organization
• Assist with annual energy reporting

Requirements

Qualifications:

• University or College student enrolled in mechanical/electrical engineering, architecture, or gas technician or facilities management course (or related field)
• Valid province of Ontario Class “G” license and access to a reliable vehicle including the ability to provide a drivers abstract when requested during the recruitment process
• Computer expertise to apply Corporate software
• Must be able to operate a pickup truck, small equipment, and power and hand tools

• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Good time management, interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in general operation of office equipment, i.e. computer, photocopier, etc.

Note:

Employment is conditional upon: attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term.

At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.

Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment.
