The Role:

Insurance Systems Inc. (ISI) is seeking a dynamic individual with a broad skill set in software architecture,
design and development to join an exciting engineering team on an industry-leading web-based policy administration suite. As Lead Architect, you will play a key role in designing and delivering end-to-end solutions using .NET technologies and AWS cloud services. This is a hands-on architecture role that blends technical leadership, strategic thinking, and practical implementation.

You will be actively engaged in strategic product development initiatives, helping shape the future of our platform by integrating cutting-edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and intelligent automation. Your work will directly influence our ability to deliver innovative, next-generation capabilities to our clients.

Youll work closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and product managers to transform business requirements into scalable and secure system designs. While your main focus will be architecture and guidance, you'll also contribute directly to the codebase to ensure architectural integrity and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions using .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core) and AWS services.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams.
  • Assist in hands-on coding to validate architectural decisions, support complex feature development, and ensure code quality
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute code to set implementation standards.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Product teams to align architecture with deployment and release strategies.
  • Guide teams on best practices for cloud-native design, microservices, serverless architectures, and API management.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, RDS, S3, IAM) based on business requirements.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that provide competitive advantage.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in software development with a strong background in .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API)
  • 3+ years of experience designing solutions on AWS infrastructure
  • Proven experience designing microservices, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including agile methodologies
  • Proficiency with version control systems, including Git and SVN
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, and cost optimization
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Passion for mentoring and elevating team capability through knowledge sharing

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry, including familiarity with core insurance systems, underwriting, policy administration, or claims processing
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate/Professional)
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)
  • Exposure to frontend frameworks or mobile development
  • Experience with event-driven architecture (e.g., SNS, SQS)
