The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance of all buildings, plant equipment and site services to ensure optimum performance and a safe working environment meeting current legislative requirements and Vesuvius' Health and Safety Policies. Manages the rebuilding and repair of a wide variety of production or processing machines and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations.
Leading assigned CAPEX projects.
Controlling the resources, financial aspects and the projects.
- Identifying and implementing a proactive maintenance strategy.
- Ensuring that all Safety, Quality and other applicable Vesuvius standards are strictly implemented and followed by all department workers and sub-contractors.
- Standardizing the work methods in the form of Procedures and Standardized Work Instructions.
- Ensuring that all maintenance processes are consistent with industry regulations and Vesuvius Group policies.
- Creating and executing the preventive maintenance plan for building, installations and equipment.
- Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Planning and managing all repair and installation activities.
- Assigning repair schedules and evaluating repair cost estimates.
- Tracking expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance.
- Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Management of budgets and approval of expenses.
- Ensuring the availability of necessary tools and equipment.
- Overseeing equipment safety stock and placing orders for new supplies when necessary.
- Forecasting, ordering, and price negotiation of spare parts inventory.
- Hiring and management of subcontractors and other vendors for specialized maintenance work.
- Implementation and management of maintenance KPIs (MTBT, MTTF, Preventive Maintenance plan execution, OEE ratio), financial KPIs (Adherence to budget, cost reduction programs).
- Implementing and maintaining 5S program in the subordinate area.
- Handling emergencies.
- Creating troubleshooting guidelines.
- Acting as a change agent to instill a Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement culture with a focus on building strong and positive working relationships.
- Looking for new ways to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Management of technical documentation of buildings, installations and equipment (drawings, specifications, registers) according with the Quality Management System standard.
- Managing and processing maintenance SCAR's (Supplier Corrective Action Requests).
- Overseeing recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure optimum quality and level of resource for the projected workloads, schedule and projects.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
