As the Electrical Lead Hand, you'll lead by example, working alongside electricians while also taking on supervisory responsibilities. You'll play a key role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, ensuring productivity and safety standards are met.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of the electrical department, participating hands-on and coordinating team workflows.
- Collaborate with the Electrical Manager to plan and schedule work, respond to emergent repairs, and ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks are completed.
- Conduct daily team meetings to review work orders, safety updates, and priorities.
- Support capital project installations and contribute to departmental development and efficiency.
- Monitor adherence to safety, GMP, and food safety standards.
- Act as a communication bridge between staff and management, addressing concerns promptly.
- Assist in hiring, training, and developing electrical staff, including performance reviews and discipline procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and food-safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician certificate (additional industrial tickets such as millwright, welder, etc., are an asset).
- Significant industrial experience, preferably in a food processing environment.
- Strong supervisory or leadership experience (or demonstrated ability and desire to develop).
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in outdoor environments.
Hours of Work:
This position will be working an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday.
