Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems for our vehicles and attachments. This role includes both new product development and ongoing support for existing products, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for trackless vehicles including wiring harnesses, control systems, sensors, and power distribution networks.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Select and specify electrical components (circuit breakers, relays, connectors, control units).
- Conduct simulations, analyses, and rigorous testing of electrical systems for compliance with safety and performance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in prototype and production vehicles.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of PLCs, HMIs, and CAN bus-based communication systems.
- Participate in vehicle field testing and commissioning.
- Provide technical support to production, service, and quality assurance teams.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical engineering, preferably in mobile machinery, heavy equipment, or automotive applications.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low/high voltage circuits, battery management, and electronic control systems.
- Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex systems.
- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards for mobile industrial equipment.
Preferred:
- Experience with off-highway or trackless vehicles, particularly in mining, tunneling, or municipal applications.
- Knowledge of PLC programming, CAN bus systems, J1939 protocol, or embedded control systems.
- Experience with electric drivetrains.
- Registered or eligible for registration with a recognized engineering council (e.g., ECSA, PEO).
