Job Title: Receptionist / Order Taker
Monday to Friday 7:30 to 4:30
$22/hr
Starting as a 6 month contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and professional Receptionist/Order Taker to join our team at a metal company. This role involves answering phone calls, greeting visitors, processing customer orders, and supporting sales and administrative functions. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, basic product knowledge of metals or willingness to learn, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors and clients in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to appropriate personnel
- Take and process customer orders accurately via phone, email, or in person
- Input orders into ERP or inventory management system
- Provide basic product information and availability (training provided)
- Liaise with the warehouse and sales teams regarding stock levels and order fulfillment
- Prepare invoices, sales quotes, and shipping documents as needed
- Maintain front office and order logs in an organized manner
- Assist with general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and mail handling
- Uphold safety and confidentiality policies at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service/order entry role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and data entry systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP platforms)
- Ability to learn technical product specifications (metals, grades, dimensions, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other) a plus, depending on customer base
Working Conditions:
- Office setting within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- May occasionally visit the shop floor or warehouse to verify orders
- Full-time, Monday to Friday schedule (some overtime may be required)
