The Opportunity
Business Point is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction projects from pre-construction through to final delivery. This is a hands-on role that involves coordinating project teams, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring quality and safety across all phases of development. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial construction and a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple ICI construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project objectives and deliverables.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Support contract negotiations and manage vendor performance.
- Oversee on-site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site visits and project meetings to track progress and resolve issues.
- Monitor project risks and apply mitigation strategies when necessary.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members, clients, and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills and Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in project management within the commercial construction sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and technical documents.
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Valid G Class Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
