With a team of professionals specializing in structural, electrical, mechanical, and architectural design for both conventional buildings and modular structures, this established and growing multi-disciplinary firm has built a strong reputation both nationally and internationally. They are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team, with opportunities available in both Orillia, ON, and Calgary, AB. Hybrid or fully remote could be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Also, the opportunity to grow to a VP or GM of Structural position in the future. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will work closely with the Department Manager to ensure high-quality project delivery through structural design, analysis, detailing, and the preparation of technical documentation, all within defined timelines and budgets.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Assessing building integrity and structural feasibility for remedial solutions and retrofits, and preparing reports and designs based on investigation findings.
- Conducting construction site reviews to ensure work is completed in accordance with original specifications.
- Preparing quotes and proposals for new projects.
- Managing and monitoring projects through all phases.
- Mentoring and supporting the development of engineering staff.
- Managing client relationships, including monthly invoicing and assisting with account collections.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Modular and Commercial Construction is a MUST.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or Alberta with at least 7 years of experience in civil engineering, specializing in structural design.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sealing engineering documents within Canadian provinces.
- Additional provincial engineering licenses are considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software (experience with Revit and Bluebeam is an asset).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of structural design standards, engineering principles, and applicable building codes and regulations, including OBC, NBC, OHSA, and the Construction Lien Act.
- Skilled in reviewing, validating, and stamping engineered drawings and structural designs with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
- Proficient in interpreting technical documents such as manuals, procedures, diagrams, architectural and electrical drawings, and project schedules.
- Knowledgeable in sustainable building practices, as well as masonry and precast applications, including material strength specifications and engineering standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to non-engineering team members.
- Excellent project and time management abilities.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, independent reasoning, and proven leadership skills with a strong commitment to team development.
COMPENSATION:
- Senior Structural Engineer leading a team: $130,000-$150,000
- Senior Structural Engineer working as an individual contributor: $120,000-$135,000
The salary will be based on experience, industry, and similar projects worked on.
