Members of Parliament are responsible to uphold the principles and practices of Canadian democracy. They sit in the House of Commons to serve as representatives of the people who have elected them to that office. Members consider and vote on legislation in the chamber, attend committee and caucus meetings, and perform a wide range of duties in their constituencies. They also represent Canada when travelling abroad on official business or when hosting foreign dignitaries.
Job Description
The office of David Myles, Member of Parliament for Fredericton-Oromocto is currently seeking to staff various roles within his constituency office.
As a Constituency Assistant, you will be responsible for responding to constituency inquiries and ensuring the information is collected, prioritized and processed within a timely manner. You will make a difference in your community by attending and hosting community events, meetings and information sessions. You will share the changes and impacts of legislatures created in Ottawa, locally with your community members by crating info-letters, social media posts and updating the website.

Qualifications
Education:
- Post-secondary education or a combination of education, training and related experience.
Experiences:
- Experience in a client service environment;
- Experience providing administrative support;
- Experience managing multiple conflicting priorities;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Bilingualism in both French and English;
- Knowledge of the riding of Fredericton – Oromocto.
Assets:
- Experience in the management of a team;
- Experience with case work and/or management of a portfolio of diverse clients;
- Experience in communication, including but not limited to social media, graphic design, and website design;
- Experience in a political environment.
