Fuel Transport is seeking a Senior Director, Technology for our Montreal, QC office. In this critical role, the selected candidate will shape the company's technological landscape by driving digital transformation, aligning technology strategies with business objectives, and leading cross-functional teams across infrastructure, cybersecurity, application support, EDI and data integrations, and BI & Data Analytics. Reporting to the Vice-President, Technology & Innovation, the selected candidate will oversee all technology operations, manage budgets, and develop long-term roadmaps to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This hands-on, visionary leader will spearhead growth and improvement initiatives, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure the seamless integration of technology across multiple business units, supporting Fuel's secure, scalable, and innovative technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute technology and innovation strategies aligned with the company's goals.
  • Provide visionary leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize technological initiatives.
  • Oversee budgetary and financial processes for the technology team.
  • Lead and mentor directors, managers, and their teams across multiple departments.
  • Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and performance management.
  • Provide learning, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to the group.
  • Oversee the support and maintenance of networking, hardware, communication infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, and first-line customer support.
  • Supervise operational applications including, but not limited to, ERP, TMS, WMS, BI and Data Visualizations, Imaging, and other business platforms.
  • Manage partner-based data integrations using platforms that support EDI, FTP, and API integrations.
  • Oversee data-related activities, including Cloud-based Data Lakehouse and ETL/data movement platforms.
  • Guide the use of tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Support the development of custom-built, data-driven process automations as well as purpose-built applications and web portals.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive growth and efficiency.
  • Communicate development initiatives clearly to technical and non-technical teams alike.
  • Support additional initiatives as directed by leadership, aligning with Fuel's strategic goals.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related Engineering field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of IT management experience with teams larger than 10 people, including at least 3 years in a director-level role.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proven track record of leading digital transformation initiatives and large-scale projects.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and budgetary management skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) preferred. The requirement of another language is required for this position as the candidate will be required to interact and communicate with clients, suppliers and colleagues throughout North America.
  • Certifications like MSCA, MSCD, MSCE, CISSP, CISM, or ITIL Foundations are an asset.
  • Strong communication, motivational, and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach to team management.
