Internal Job Title: Account Manager

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Location: Ottawa, ON

Position Summary

As an Account Manager in our North American Business Development group, you will be responsible for building strong, trust-based relationships with our government customers, managing their programs and accounts, and supporting senior level (VP, Executive Director, Director) business development personnel's pursuit of new business in the driver and vehicle solution domain (driver's licence/identification cards; motor vehicle information (entitlement) systems) in Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and provide a high level of customer service at all times;
    • Liaise regularly with customer counterparts and ensure that our commitments are met, customer expectations are managed, and any issues are responded to and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Account Oversight
    • Develop, maintain, evolve and report on comprehensive activity logs for each customer and ensure that all day-to-day account requirements and documented and tracked to successful completion;
    • Monitor, manage and document all customer contract activities including schedules, service levels, system performance evaluations, change requests, scope change documentation, and invoicing/payables;
    • Ensure change requests are shepherded through the change request process in a timely manner.
  • Sales and Business Development
    • Participate in and contribute to monthly sales forecasting efforts and reviews, pre-sales activities, and proposal preparation that supports the pursuit of new business within existing accounts or with new customers.
  • Various other duties and responsibilities
Qualifications

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science (or related) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and years of work experience
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Solution based selling fundamentals
    • Customer service principles

Experience

  • 3 years of business development or account management experience

  • Language: Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking); bilingualism (French) is an asset
  • Travel: Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally approx. 8-10 weeks/year
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) personal security clearance.
