Position Title: Finance Manager (Contract)

Contract Duration: 15 Months (Maternity Leave) *possibility for extension*

About the Opportunity

A well-established utility services provider is hiring a contract-based Senior Financial Analyst. This role supports executive leadership by delivering timely and accurate regulatory reports, detailed financial analyses, and budgeting insight. You'll also play a key role in ensuring compliance with industry standards and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of ledger activity related to regulated operations, including variances, anomalies, and adjustments.
• Manage the preparation and timely submission of compliance filings to industry regulators such as the Ontario Energy Board and IESO.
• Facilitate data gathering and response coordination for inquiries from regulatory and government agencies.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth implementation of regulatory-driven process changes.
• Support the annual planning cycle through detailed budget modeling and forecasting.
• Oversee financial reconciliations, month-end summaries, and year-end reports.
• Assist with audits and prepare supporting documentation as required.

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (equivalent work experience considered).
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred or in progress.
• 4 years of experience in financial analysis, regulatory reporting, or business analytics.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and ability to interpret legislative content.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Work Structure

• Standard schedule: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
• Additional hours may be required based on workload.
