Role Title: Corporate Accounting Lead
Reports To: Financial Operations Director
Location: On-site (Eastern Ontario)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: $85,000 – $105,000 annually
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven finance leader to oversee core accounting functions for a diversified organization. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for delivering timely financial insights, streamlining reporting practices, and ensuring regulatory and operational compliance. You'll also play a key role in developing internal processes and mentoring a growing team of accounting professionals.
Core Functions
Deliver accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income reports) for several business divisions and corporate units on a monthly basis
Analyze quarterly performance benchmarks and provide transparent reporting to executive leadership and affiliated stakeholders
Manage the day-to-day functions of accounting operations including payables, receivables, and payroll processing
Optimize usage and configuration of accounting systems to improve process efficiency and reporting accuracy
Lead the financial integration process for acquired businesses into existing systems and reporting structures
Construct annual operating budgets and perform variance analysis to support fiscal discipline
Design and enforce internal control mechanisms that reduce organizational risk and ensure compliance
Maintain alignment with all statutory, taxation, and regulatory obligations on a provincial and federal level
Coordinate year-end external audit procedures and liaise with third-party auditors
Provide oversight to accounting units across multiple offices, ensuring adherence to internal policy and financial controls
Cultivate a high-performing accounting team by offering mentorship, training, and performance support in alignment with company values
What You Bring
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent practical experience
CPA designation (mandatory)
At least 3 years of progressive financial experience in a complex or multi-entity business environment
Mastery of Microsoft Excel and advanced spreadsheet functionality
Exceptional discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to operational excellence
Ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic work setting
Clear communicator comfortable interfacing with internal teams and external stakeholders alike
