Manager, Accounting
Location: Toronto (Hybrid 3 days in office)
Salary: $85,000$95,000 + benefits

Were recruiting on behalf of a consumer goods company based in Toronto. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role in the finance team.

About the Role:
As Manager, Accounting, you'll report directly to the CFO and oversee a Staff Accountant. You'll be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance (including Canadian and U.S. sales tax), while ensuring adherence to ASPE accounting standards. Because this role involves inventory, product, and COGS, prior experience in a product-based environment is essential.

What You'll Do:

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports

• Manage compliance with ASPE and taxation requirements (Canada & U.S. state sales tax)

• Support external audits and liaise with auditors

• Supervise one direct report (Staff Accountant)

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations

What Were Looking For:

• CPA designation (preferred)

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience

• Experience in a product-based industry (e.g., retail, eCommerce, wholesale apparel, consumer goods)

• Strong knowledge of ASPE and tax compliance

• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a lean team environment

What's Offered:

• $85,000$95,000 base salary
