Position Overview

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), you will be a leader in the classroom and work collaboratively with your team to deliver high-quality programming aligned with our child-led, play-based philosophy. Under the guidance of the Supervisor, you will play an integral role in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement programming aligned with How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH?) and Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT)
• Facilitate engaging indoor and outdoor activities that support holistic development
• Support a child-led environment that values each child as capable and competent
• Conduct developmental assessments and participate in annual family meetings
• Capture and document meaningful observations to support child development and learning outcomes
• Complete program planning, administrative tasks, and maintain accurate records, including attendance, sleep checks, and name-to-face tracking
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children
• Comply with all Ministry of Education regulations and Public Health mandates
• Maintain strong communication and collaboration with colleagues and families
• Demonstrate consistent punctuality and reliability in daily responsibilities
• Respond to transient, emergency, and unplanned duties aligned with the role's scope
• Adapt to the evolving needs of the field with professionalism and flexibility

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or equivalent (RECE applicants only)
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role an asset; new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Current First Aid & CPR Level C certification
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
• Up-to-date with all required vaccinations and 2-step TB test
• Strong understanding of the CCEYA, HDLH?, and ELECT
• Passionate about ongoing professional growth and reflective practice
• Experience working in culturally diverse communities
• Excellent communication skills (English required; French or other languages an asset)
• Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 lbs
