Job / Position Summary:
Process and underwrite new credit applications and renewal of existing credit lines in accordance with established policies and procedures with optimal customer service and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities & Main Duties:
· Underwrite new and existing loan including enhancement applications by developing a comprehensive credit proposal for presentation to the approving authorities, ensuring compliance with the bank's credit policies, risk guidelines, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining timely processing.
· Conduct a thorough review of creditworthiness, including the analysis of financial data, customer profiles, and borrowing needs.
· Determine the appropriate loan terms based on financial assessments and market conditions and make recommendations.
· Assign Credit Rating to portfolios based on the borrower's creditworthiness and defined standards.
· Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve credit underwriting processes to enhance efficiency, compliance, and risk management. Adapt to changes in credit policies, industry best practices, and new risk management strategies.
· Renewals: Manage the timely renewal of loans, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and compliance requirements are met.
· Reporting: Review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports (prepared by credit administration) and follow up with the Customers / Branches for the regularization of accounts.
· Annual & Compliance Review: Conduct annual reviews of the loan portfolio to ensure successful renewals of existing loans, including commercial and residential real estate financing.
· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with credit underwriting processes. Ensure the effective implementation of credit risk policies and procedures to manage credit, operational, and regulatory risks.
· Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Maintain professional relationship and coordinate with lawyers and inspectors as needed.
Assist Team Lead and Head of Credit in other credit related projects and assignments.
Job Specifications (Minimum Requirement):
Academic Qualification(s): Graduate in Business/ Finance or related field.
Relevant Experience: 5 years of credit processing & underwriting at a Bank.
