Job Description

This is your opportunity to join a smart team of doers who work passionately to ensure systems work as specified and will transform our Canadian Army's experiences. We are currently looking for an Intermediate Systems Integration, Verification and Validation Engineering Analyst to join GDMS-C's Mobile Domain team. You will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team that has adopted an Agile framework, so you will take part in Scrum events, Sprint reviews, and work collaboratively with our program teams and customers. This position is based on-site at our Calgary facility.

Day to Day Activities:

In this role, no two days are the same! Working primarily in a lab environment, you can expect to:

  • Support development of test plans, test cases and procedures, and utilize escalating test methods for system verification tests
  • Innovate with test methods, create automated test programs, and design and participate in validation tests in the lab and field
  • You will work side-by-side with the customer in an Integrated Product Team environment and interact with software engineering, systems engineering, and solution teams
  • This position will include working with Windows Servers, Networking (routing, VLANs), Microsoft applications, radio secure bearers, voice and data networks, and various automation tools (Python, Robot Framework), troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, VCCI, CORE) and simulation tools (VBS).
  • Required to pursue new & creative approaches working in a team-oriented environment, comfortable presenting ideas in group settings, share knowledge and present ideas to colleagues
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Always conduct themselves professionally, in all meetings and activities, and when included in customer attended events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years experience or Technical Diploma plus 6-8 years' experience
  • Positive approach to learning and trying new things
  • Excellent communication abilities (written and verbal)
  • Awareness of the product development life cycle and associated processes
  • Knowledge and experience with engineering and SIV&V process, including Agile/EDF
  • Experience in defining, developing and executing integration tests for complex functionality, and understanding the interdependencies and interactions between subsystems
  • Experience in the investigation, recommendations, and resolution of complex defects

Experience with the any of the following tools is also desirable:

  • Awareness of Test Automation principles; possesses applicable skills and can contribute to its implementation
  • Familiarity with radios, voice/data networks, and Internet Protocol (IP)
  • Preference with experience in Linux, Python, Robot and Git
  • WireShark
  • Code Collaborator/DM Workflow
  • Microsoft Visio and other Office Suite products
  • IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM)

  • Applicants must be Canadian citizens who are able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (Canadian) and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
