Chew Excavating has an exciting and immediate opening for a Project Coordinator in Victoria. This role supports field operations from project initiation through completion and includes responsibilities such as pre-job coordination, scheduling, quantity tracking, billing, documentation, and surveying tasks related to underground utility projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Administration
- Organize and manage projects from initiation to close-out
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors/subcontractors
- Track and document project scope, schedule, and cost changes
- Generate progress billings based on input from field crews
- Perform material take-offs and support procurement
- Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare close-out packages
- Promote and adhere to Chews Health & Safety policies
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, coworkers, and subcontractors
- Confirm site readiness with developers/builders
- Resolve day-to-day issues with clients, authorities, and stakeholders
- Ensure customer satisfaction and ongoing communication throughout the project
Survey & Field Support (Associated Surveyor Tasks)
- Attend pre-construction meetings for new projects
- Locate existing utilities and layout proposed work in the field
- Verify site grading and overall job quality
- Take precise measurements and prepare unit price sheets and quotes
- Produce as-built drawings and associated Hydro or utility paperwork
- Manage material inventory, including reporting and purchasing
- Provide additional field support to crews as needed

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Experience in civil construction, especially underground electrical installations, is an asset
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, construction specs, and utility standards
- Knowledge of excavation, underground utilities, and roadworks
- Relevant technical education or equivalent work experience preferred
- PMP or CCA Gold Seal certification is an asset
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and Trimble is an asset
Other Requirements
- Valid Class 5 drivers license
- Combination of office and field work; regular site visits required
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
