We are recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to work at our plant in Windsor, ON (6500 Cantelon Dr.).
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes to achieve the company's production goals. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency in the manufacturing operations
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Implementation: Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Automation: Design, build and implement automation to improve production efficiency and quality.
Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and plan, implement to enhance operational efficiency.
Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet industry standards and product specifications.
Equipment Selection and Maintenance: Make technical decision of the purchase of new manufacturing equipment. Coordinate maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
Continuous Improvement: Apply lean manufacturing and six sigma principles to eliminate waste, improve processes, and reduce variability in production.
Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, such as process flow charts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Collaboration and Support: Work with product development engineers to integrate new products into the manufacturing process. Provide technical support and training to production staff.

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager

- Scrap Rate
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness
- Cycle Time
- Number of Improvement Projects Initiated/Completed
- Annual Cost Savings Achieved
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of proven shop floor manufacturing engineering experience, preferred in Automotive industry.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.
Experience with CAD software and proficiency in designing manufacturing layouts.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment
Willingness to travel as needed to support manufacturing operations at other sites or to evaluate new technologies and equipment.
May require availability outside of traditional working hours to resolve urgent production issues or to support project deadlines.
