Were seeking a Director, Famers Depot to lead the business strategy, digital transformation, and revenue growth of Farmers Depot and our Cambridge-based retail store, Valley Feeds. In this high-impact leadership role where you will own and execute strategies across e-commerce, pricing, marketing, and retail operations, helping shape the future of agricultural retail in Canada.
You'll report to the President and work closely with the executive team to drive performance, customer engagement, and long-term growth. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic thinking with operational execution, offering the chance to make a direct and lasting impact.
What youll do:
Strategy & Growth Leadership
- Develop and lead the business strategy to accelerate e-commerce growth, improve operational efficiency, and expand market share.
- Drive profitability through pricing, product assortment, and innovation across both retail and online channels.
- Provide market intelligence to the executive team, identifying new opportunities and guiding long-term planning.
- Manage P&L, forecasting, and budgeting to ensure sustainable revenue growth.
Revenue & Pricing Optimization
- Implement dynamic pricing strategies to maximize margin and competitiveness.
- Identify new revenue opportunities through bundling, segmentation, and upsell strategies.
- Collaborate with product and procurement teams to enhance sourcing and margin performance.
Digital & E-Commerce Leadership
- Lead the evolution of FarmersDepot.ca to improve user experience, search optimization, and conversion rates.
- Partner with IT and marketing to deliver a seamless, personalized digital customer experience.
- Use data and analytics to refine the customer journey and drive repeat engagement.
Marketing & Customer Growth
- Partner with Marketing to deliver data-driven campaigns, product launches, and seasonal promotions.
- Ensure a consistent, compelling brand voice across all customer touchpoints online, in-store, and through partner networks.
- Strengthen strategic partnerships with veterinarians and industry stakeholders to unlock new growth channels.
Team Leadership & Retail Excellence
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team across Category Management, Direct Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and Retail Management.
- Champion a professional, customer-first retail experience at Farmers Depot and Valley Feeds.
- Build a strong, values-driven team culture with clear development pathways and succession plans.
Operational Execution
- Ensure operational excellence through smart systems, fulfillment processes, and technology-driven improvements.
- Support the distribution of Farmers Depots product portfolio across Canada, including exclusive brands like MS Schippers.
- Uphold regulatory compliance, particularly in prescription sales and animal health products.
Your background includes:
- 5+ years of leadership experience in e-commerce, retail, or B2B sales ideally in agriculture, animal health, or pharma sectors.
- A proven track record of owning a P&L and delivering results in a fast-paced, customer-centric business.
- Strong strategic thinking paired with operational discipline and a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent understanding of digital marketing, SEO, pricing models, and customer segmentation.
- Experience managing and mentoring cross-functional teams toward aligned business goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Passion for agriculture and a drive to innovate in the rural retail space.
