Excellent communication skills are a must, as is the ability to multitask. Working in the kitchen means working in a fast-paced environment, so you'll need to stay organized.
- Prepare ingredients for established dishes, such as chopping vegetables and cutting meat.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards when preparing food.
- Provide assistance to the head chef as required.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
- Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff and servers to ensure all orders are prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage when times are slow
- 2+ years experience as a Cook or Line Cook
- Culinary certificate or degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of best practices and cooking methods, including safe knife-handling skills
- Superb attention to detail while being able to work quickly and efficiently
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills while working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a motivated team player
- Empathy for, and an understanding of older adults, aging in place and cognitive impairment.
- Positive attitude and the ability to build relationships.
